The current rate of CDMA subscriber adds in India averages 1.8 Million subs a month and this should take the CDMA Subscribers past the 50 Million mark in April 2007. CDG is celebrating this achievement and welcomes the same as it happens in April. CDMA was first deployed widely in India in 2003 & in three years, the subscriber base has crossed 46 Million, giving CDMA a 30% market share of the total mobility market place. This, after having conceded a lead of 8 years to the competing Technology, GSM which started in 1995 in India. In fact with the launch of CDMA services by Reliance & Tatas in 2003, tariffs dropped by 45% & real time growth started in the Mobility Market Place.
