Adobe Systems Incorporated (Nasdaq: ADBE) has named Verizon Wireless its exclusive wireless carrier launch partner in North America for delivering all new Adobe mobile applications.
Additionally, Adobe announced that Verizon Wireless will be the first wireless operator in North America to bring Adobe® FlashCast® based data services to mobile subscribers, in the second half of 2007.
Adobe FlashCast technology enables personalized, intuitive data services through a new generation of Adobe Flash® Player compatible mobile applications called channels. Users will be able to easily discover and enjoy up-to-the-minute, always-on channels with a breadth of information, including sports, weather, news, entertainment, music and more. Rich content is packaged in an engaging way, with an easily navigable and branded user interface that is designed to differentiate and drive customer loyalty.
Adobe Systems Incorporated (Nasdaq:ADBE) announced that NTT DoCoMo’s i-channel news and information service, powered by Adobe® FlashCast® technology, has surpassed 10 Million subscribers in Japan. NTT DoCoMo hit this important milestone just 18 months after the launch. The rapidly expanding data service is delivered through 25 channels to almost 20 percent of all NTT DoCoMo customers.
Adobe FlashCast technology is a leading offline portal solution that effectively delivers rich data services to mobile devices through a new generation of mobile applications called channels. NTT DoCoMo’s i-channel service allows subscribers to automatically receive five basic channels, including news, entertainment, weather, horoscopes and sports. When channels are updated, subscribers are notified via live information banners on the home screen of their handsets. For an additional fee, subscribers have the option to add channels delivered by a wide range of third party content providers.
Adobe Systems Incorporated and Chunghwa® Telecom have announced a partnership to deliver Adobe® FlashCast® technology to more than eight million subscribers in Taiwan. The new offering is expected to deliver rich data services across the Chunghwa Telecom network before the end of 2007.
Adobe FlashCast is designed to deliver rich, customized data services through a new generation of Adobe Flash® Player compatible mobile applications called channels. Chunghwa Telecom subscribers will be able to access multiple channels delivering news, entertainment, weather information, and more. A set of premium channels with content from leading media brands will offer information for specific groups and demographics. Interoperability with browsers, messaging applications, and media players allow Chunghwa Telecom to leverage investments in existing data services.
