New York and London, March 30, 2009 -- Ireland's fastest growing mobile network, 3, has today become the first Bebo Open Mobile Partner in Ireland, launching the Bebo Open Mobile Messaging and Media toolkit, allowing customers to connect directly to friends by text and watch free video content on Bebo from their 3 mobile.
Launched in February, Bebo Open Mobile is a global programme for mobile operators, handset manufacturers and mobile software developers. The initiative offers a suite of tools to support the delivery of the Bebo social networking experience to mobile users and has achieved considerable industry adoption.
"The user response to Bebo messaging on 3 has validated the appeal of Bebo messaging as a two-way channel to connect Bebo users with the friends and content they care about," said Sean Kane, Global Head of Mobile, Bebo. "We're also breaking new ground with video. In order to reach its potential video on mobile needs to be a social experience - Bebo Open Mobile Video finally connects friends and content."
FunkySexyCool, the successful mobile social networking community, is using Bango’s global mobile web platform to capture the global market as it expands beyond the operator decks and goes direct-to-consumer on any network, anywhere in the world.
"Bango has enabled FunkySexyCool to launch off-deck in more than 18 countries with minimum financial risk and maximum revenue gain," says Tim O’Connor, CEO, FunkySexyCool. "The Bango Service gives FunkySexyCool the ability to launch off-deck in weeks, not months."
FunkySexyCool is a mobile social networking site where members create profiles as well as vote and message each other. Unlike other large social networks, FunkySexyCool has unique inbuilt features and functionality that monetizes each and every subscriber.
The service costs $4,995 to set up, with monthly fees as low as $1,395 for hosting, the Bango Service (billing, tracking, traffic, info) and ongoing maintenance.
