Bango technology powers revolutionary books-on-mobile service

January 28, 2008 – Bango announced today it is powering a revolutionary new service that turns the mobile phone into a personal “on the go” library. Bango’s billing and digital fingerprint technologies have enabled Macmillan Publishing Solutions (MPS) to create The Global Reader - a new service that gives consumers access to books, articles, newspapers and other print content on their mobile phone easily and inexpensively.

The MPS service is expected to shift the publishing world because it offers publishers a new distribution channel and provides a direct link with consumers. Because the Global Reader service is mobile-web based, publishers will be able to interact directly with customers and – using Bango technology – receive detailed information about customers.

The Global Reader will enhance the way people access printed material. "We never envisioned people would want to read War and Peace on their phones," said Bob Kasher, one of the developers and originators of The Global Reader. "What we responded to was the idea that millions of people have mobile phones in their pockets." » read more »

Bango 2Go gives brands the fast-track to the mobile web

Eliminates the complexity and risk of launching a mobile web presence

Bango today introduced a new service, called Bango 2Go, which is a simple, cost effective way for brands and content providers to launch a presence on the mobile web. The new service – the first of its kind in the world – takes the guesswork out of participating in what industry analysts call the next internet "gold rush."

"Brands recognize the power and reach of the mobile web but have had trouble navigating the complex landscape of the mobile world," said Ray Anderson, CEO of Bango. "With Bango 2Go brands are up-and-running in just one step."

Bango has streamlined the process by combining its powerful mobile web technology with a wide range of site development skills provided by its partners. With Bango 2Go, content providers and mainstream PC brands – large and small – get mobile website building, hosting, traffic generation, monitoring and a global payment service. Brands simply visit www.bango.com to get started and Bango manages the rest:

    * Bango's leading partners, selected for their expertise, handle building and hosting the mobile websites. » read more »

Bango and iLoop Mobile unite payment systems and mobile Storefronts

Partnership helps customers take the complexity out of mobile content distribution

Bango and iLoop Mobile have announced a partnership that delivers a new way for brands and content owners to quickly and easily offer professional storefronts for mobile content with flexible billing. The collaboration enables customers to build both mobile websites (WAP) and PC websites without the pain of having to code from scratch or the headache of integrating with a multitude of payment systems. This partnership allows customers to promote and sell their content to users anywhere in the world.

One of the first WAP sites to be built as a result of the collaboration between iLoop Mobile and Bango was the ES Interactive, LLC’s new LaVida reggaetton music, games and Hispanic content site. This site was built by integrating iLoop Mobile’s patent-pending mobile application platform with Bango’s billing technology. As one of the first Spanish language WAP sites, LaVida enables reggaetton and Hispanic content fans around the world to pay for and download content straight to their phone – simply by text messaging Lavida to 23163 – on any network, in any country worldwide. » read more »
