Global Cool, the climate change charity backed by celebrities including Sienna Miller and Leonardo DiCaprio, has appointed mobile marketing company Sponge to drive its fundraising campaign.

The aim of the charity, which is based in London and Los Angeles, is to encourage one billion people worldwide to reduce their carbon emissions by one tonne through simple energy reductions.
Three Principles of Mobile Marketing

Redknee enables mobile marketing through personalization

Redknee, a leading provider of innovative infrastructure software that monetizes and personalizes services and content for mobile operators, today announced three key principles of mobile marketing. The principles are a guide for mobile operators preparing to capitalize on mobile marketing opportunities.

Industry reports indicate that spending on mobile advertising is expected to grow from approximately $1.5 billion in 2006 to over $13.9 billion in 2011. The anywhere/anytime factor of the mobile handset is inherently direct and personal, and gives mobile marketing an advantage over traditional marketing mediums. Mobile advertising campaigns will typically directly complement digital campaigns for TV and the Internet, expanding their reach and effectiveness.

Both operators and media companies see the new revenue streams beyond the 'customer pays' model. A positive subscriber mobile marketing experience is based on permissive attributes such as personal needs and interests, privacy preferences, and situational context. » read more »

Mobile search and advertising solutions Medio Systems, Inc. has announced the launch of its performance-based Medio MobileNow™ Ad Network. Enabling advertisers to target potentially millions of mobile consumers with pay-per-click ads, the MobileNow Ad Network, a part of Medio’s complete mobile search ecosystem, will also generate new revenues for participating wireless operators and off-deck mobile properties.

The precision ad targeting that powers the Medio MobileNow Ad Network is based on the same technological advances that drive the search experience for Medio’s current partners—top wireless operators like T-Mobile, TELUS Mobility and Amp’d Mobile–through hosted white-label search and recommendation technologies that deliver highly relevant answers rather than lists of links. » read more »

The advertising services with creative ad placements that were launched on the Vodafone live! portal in September 2006 are getting more popular by the day, Vodafone said. The portal's advertising partners are the auto manufacturers, Opel, VW, Volvo, and Mercedes, plus 20th Century Fox which is advertising its Hollywood blockbuster, "Eragon". Unilever is another new partner.

The automotive industry has discovered that the Vodafone live! portal is an effective advertising platform and the car makers are developing creative advertising packages with Vodafone's partner, G+J EMS. Opel launched a Race Camp Campaign, offering the winner of a several-stage casting process the opportunity to take part in the 24-hour race at Nürburgring 2008. VW used the Vodafone live! portal to support its advertising campaigns for the VW Touran and the VW Tour, including test drive generation. » read more »
