Starting in April, Telia’s customers in Sweden can start watching international football games and matches from the premier division of the Swedish football league right on their mobile phones. This new mobile television service is the result of a four-year agreement that Telia has signed to get the exclusive rights to broadcast Swedish football games on mobile phones. The agreement covers both live broadcasts and post-match summaries.
In the first phase, Telia customers will be offered live broadcasts of premier division games as part of the television programming package available through Telia’s SurfPort mobile portal. Viewers can choose if they prefer to watch live broadcasts or receive post-game summaries. The agreement also enables Telia to offer services such as game results and the broadcast of exclusive material during and after football matches.
The most apparent trend within IT and telecom in 2007 is that older people are clearly copying the user behaviour of younger persons. This is one of the findings of this year’s Telia Trend Report survey, which polled approximately 10,000 private and enterprise customers in Sweden.
Close to 80 percent of everyone over 60 who was polled in the survey sends digital photos or film clips to family and friends. Publishing pictures and film clips on websites, such as YouTube, is popular among both young and old people: 37 percent under the age of 26 has published photos and 21 percent between the age of 26 and 40. As many as 28 percent of the people over 60 stated that they will start to use a web camera during 2007.
03/06/2007 -- Sony Ericsson is selling well in Telia’s retail stores. Every other
mobile phone in the February Top Ten List comes from Sony Ericsson.
However, Nokia topped the list. Only one other mobile brand than Nokia
or Sony Ericsson made the February list – Samsung’s X-510 handset, which
came in ninth place.
Nine out of ten mobiles on the Top Ten List have a built-in camera.
Seven out of ten have a built-in Mp3 player and can be used for e-mail.
