MATERNA Implements Innovative MMS-Services for Belgian Network Operator Mobistar

Dortmund/Brussels, August 1st 2007 (By: Antje Krämer) -- The telecommunication specialist MATERNA Information & Communications, located in Dortmund, Germany, has successfully implemented two new MMS-Services for the Belgian network operator Mobistar. For the more than 3 million Mobistar customers, the sending of MMS has become even more attractive now, thanks to the MMS Composer and MMS2Email applications.

France Telecom‘s Globecast to Manage MobiTV Content Ingestion

GlobeCast, a subsidiary of France Telecom, announced it has been selected to manage content ingestion to support the delivery of live television for MobiTV, a provider of mobile and broadband television and music services,

From its digital broadcast center and teleport in Los Angeles, the Company’s IP broadcasting hub in the U.S., GlobeCast is furnishing 24/7 content management, including channel ingest via satellite, signal encoding, monitoring and connectivity of live channels for delivery into MobiTV’s proprietary technology platform(s) across the Americas.

“By centralizing our channel ingestion, MobiTV is now able to easily ingest and move channels on a global scale across GlobeCast’s worldwide network of teleports, satellite capacities and a global fiber ring,” said Kay Johansson, CTO for MobiTV. “Not only do we have more flexibility to scale internationally, we have a solution in place that protects our proprietary technology while keeping our partners’ content secure.”

Orange and Bebo partner to provide mobile social networking

Orange and Bebo have announced Bebo Mobile - a new service that brings one of the world's largest social networks to Orange customers. Orange will have an exclusive on the service in the UK for an undisclosed period of time and the service will also be tailored and rolled out to other Orange operations around the globe.

Combining SMS access to the Bebo social network, a Bebo mobile browsing experience and a members-only entertainment club, the new service enables Orange users to stay in touch with their friends when they are on the move.
