Sybase SQL Anywhere to Power Next Generation Customs Application

DUBLIN, CA — JULY 30, 2007 — Sybase, Inc. (NYSE: SY) today announced that China Customs has chosen Sybase® and East Port Technology Co. Ltd. to enhance the country’s customs import/export clearance processes, one of the world’s largest deployments of a mobile and embedded application.

The SQL Anywhere® database deployment is a major win Sybase has achieved in the mobile and embedded applications market in China, providing a secure mobile database for the China Digital Customs Data Exchange System. Once completed, the project is expected to set a new standard for future projects in China and across the globe. The original software was developed and managed by East Port Technology, and is used by all Chinese companies with import-export business.
