Hantro, a market leader for wireless video IP, announces the support for Microsoft Silverlight. Recently announced Silverlight is a cross-browser, cross-platform plug-in for next generation rich media applications for the web. Silverlight video is based on Windows Media Video (WMV), Microsoft’s implementation of VC-1 video standard, and enables interactive video experiences even up to HD resolution.

Adobe Systems Incorporated and Chunghwa® Telecom have announced a partnership to deliver Adobe® FlashCast® technology to more than eight million subscribers in Taiwan. The new offering is expected to deliver rich data services across the Chunghwa Telecom network before the end of 2007.
Adobe FlashCast is designed to deliver rich, customized data services through a new generation of Adobe Flash® Player compatible mobile applications called channels. Chunghwa Telecom subscribers will be able to access multiple channels delivering news, entertainment, weather information, and more. A set of premium channels with content from leading media brands will offer information for specific groups and demographics. Interoperability with browsers, messaging applications, and media players allow Chunghwa Telecom to leverage investments in existing data services.
Comverse, a subsidiary of Comverse Technology, Inc. and a supplier of software and systems enabling network-based multimedia enhanced communication and billing services, and Mobixell, a provider of innovative mobile multimedia solutions, have announced the deployment of mobile multimedia adaptation and optimization services for German Tier 1 mobile operator O2, part of the Spanish telecommunications group Telefónica S.A. (NYSE: TEF).
O2’s implementation of Rich Media Service Center (RMSC™) offered by Mobixell provides for delivery of mobile multimedia messages and ensures that they are displayed optimally on the handsets of O2’s subscribers throughout Germany. The service improves the quality and performance of transcoding for person-to-person (P2P) and application-to-person (A2P) MMS services for O2.
