OZ, a consumer mobile messaging solution provider, announced that Bell Canada has selected OZ to provide mobile email services to customers of Bell Mobility, the national wireless business unit of Bell Canada.
“We are very pleased to be working again with Bell Mobility,” said Skuli Mogensen, Founder and CEO of OZ. “By combining two of the most popular communications services available on the Internet onto the mobile phone, OZ enables Bell Mobility customers to stay connected with the people that matter most in their lives with the messaging solution of their choice.”
The Bell Combo Client allows Bell Mobility and Solo Mobile customers to easily use their IM and email solutions at the same time. For example, a user is reading an email on a mobile phone, with a glance, the user can simply see which one of their contacts is available on IM and can start a chat discussion, and vice versa. The solution is currently available on the Samsung a900 and the Sanyo 6600 devices.
About the OZ Mobile IM and Mobile Email Solutions
LogicaCMG is announcing a deal to enable Portugal’s leading mobile operator, TMN, to launch its ‘Super SMS’ service. The Mobile Instant Messaging (MIM) and presence platform elements of the service will be powered by Colibria’s IMPS based Mobile IM solution.
‘Super SMS’ will evolve TMN’s existing SMS services, allowing subscribers to take advantage of richer and immediate group communications with their friends. In addition to MIM, the service is presence enabled, providing information on the user’s mood, location and availability. This new-generation of mobile messaging is the first step towards fully converged IP-based messaging for the operator.
Colibria’s technology was chosen in partnership as part of LogicaCMG’s intuitive messaging portfolio as it supports an increasingly rich multimedia user experience as well as integrating with successful legacy messaging services such as SMS. Colibria’s solution will also allow mobile IM to interwork with PC IM clients.
