Non-Wireline Carrier

Non-Wireline Carrier

Sometimes called the A-Band Cellular carrier, this refers to the original cellular licenses that were granted to companies that were not the local exchange carrier in a region. Because many cellular licenses have been bought and sold since they were first issued in the 1980s, the name is not necessarily accurate any longer. (Cingular)
