Bytemobile and Vodafone Czech Republic Team to Enhance User Experience for GPRS/EDGE Network

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. and PRAGUE, Czech Republic - February 14, 2007 -- Bytemobile, Inc. and Vodafone Czech Republic a.s. (CZ) today announced the successful deployment of Bytemobile’s Optimization Services Node (OSN) 3.1 in Vodafone’s wireless network, which serves approximately 99% of the Czech mobile population. The Bytemobile optimization solution accelerates traffic for laptop subscribers to Vodafone CZ data services by 3x-7x on the 2.5G (GPRS/EDGE) network.

Vodafone CZ Vice President of Marketing Chris Robins commented: “Bytemobile’s solution enables Vodafone CZ to optimize its mobile data services, which allows customers to transfer the same amount of data significantly faster, thereby saving time and money. Customers can also determine the data to be transferred and the data to be blocked—for example, advertisements. Optimization is free for all Vodafone CZ customers on data tariffs who connect their PCs and laptops to the Internet through a mobile handset or a Vodafone Mobile Connect data card.� Vodafone CZ is the 19th operating company or affiliate of Vodafone Group Plc to install Bytemobile’s OSN since the deployment of Vodafone U.K. in 2001. Vodafone CZ’s optimized Data Accelerator service is available free of charge to all network subscribers, which currently number approximately 2.5 million.
