Maastricht, 19 September 2006 - Vodafone Netherlands is the leading mobile operator in the Netherlands when it comes to roaming services. Since the introduction of Vodafone Passport in June 2005, already more than 1.1 million Vodafone customers in the Netherlands have signed up for the free service, thus benefiting from substantially lower prices for voice calls when abroad, on holiday or on business trips. On average Vodafone Netherlands customers save approximately 40% when roaming with Vodafone Passport, and benefits can be as high as 80% in some cases. With roaming tariffs in the past differing for each country, Vodafone customers have readily embraced the free Vodafone Passport service offering them a simple and transparent price plan still unrivalled by any other operator in the Dutch market. Already nearly half of Vodafone Netherlands customers who use their mobile while abroad, do so with Vodafone Passport.
Austria 20th Vodafone Passport country
Vodafone Passport was already available in 19 countries, spread over 3 continents, many of them popular holiday destinations. Austria, a very popular holiday destination among the Dutch, is the 20th country that will be added in October to the Vodafone Passport footprint.
