Orange Announces Launch of New Roaming Offers

4th May 2006 -- Orange today announces the launch of new roaming packages which will deliver customers typical discounts of at least 25% off existing roaming rates across the 25 EU countries. From June, customers will be able to take up the offers which they can use for both incoming and outgoing calls, making it easier than ever for customers to predict their costs when roaming. The offers build on Orange's existing portfolio of competitive roaming offers which continue to be tailored to customers' needs whether they are "holiday" roamers, or frequent roamers and business users who spend a significant amount of time using their mobile abroad. It ensures customers know the cost of their roaming usage in advance and can decide which bundle or package best fits their needs.

Responding directly to customer research that highlights the unpredictable cost of receiving calls as an area of concern for customers, the offer addresses this by providing straightforward packages of minutes, incorporating all call types. In addition to this, Orange's network independent approach means that customers simply pay the same rate within any EU 25 country, irrespective of the network they are on.

In the UK for example, pay monthly customers can reap the benefits of purchasing a bundle of 50 minutes of incoming and outgoing international calls, at a cost of £25, representing a discount of 28%, compared with standard prices.

The new approach underlines Orange's commitment to making the cost of roaming as transparent as possible to customers. Orange already provides easy access to information about the cost of roaming calls. For example, customers in the UK can text 159 to find out how much a call will cost to any given country.

Orange has consistently evolved its offer to meet customer needs. The 25 EU countries where the discounts will apply are the most frequent roaming destinations for Orange customers.

"Roaming is a valuable service that gives customers the convenience and peace of mind of being easily contactable wherever they are," says Sanjiv Ahuja, Chief Executive Officer, Orange. "Orange has roaming agreements with operators worldwide, giving our customers the convenience of using their mobiles in 190 countries. We are continuing to invest in our network, partnerships and services to provide customers with industry-leading offers."

"We want our customers to continue to benefit from the innovative services and top-quality customer care that they have come to expect from Orange, even when they are travelling abroad," continues Ahuja. "These new transparent roaming discounts, combined with our existing tailored roaming offers, will ensure that all our customers can get the most from their mobiles wherever they are".
