Industry Leaders, CoreMedia and Discretix join forces to accelerate the deployment of mobile content services

Hamburg/San Mateo, October 30, 2006 – CoreMedia, the global provider of software solutions for convergent content business, and Discretix, the leading provider of embedded security and DRM solutions for mobile devices and flash memory, today announced a collaboration agreement to accelerate the deployment of OMA DRM 2.0 and Windows Media-DRM solutions.

The collaboration agreement will draw on the industry leadership, installed base and innovation of both parties to achieve fully interoperable, robust, seamless end-to-end mobile DRM solutions. The solutions will address the mobile operators’ and content owner's requirements for both usability and security. Fully interoperable DRM solutions provide a cost effective deployment while simplifying the user experience to ensure a rapid uptake of digital content services.Discretix is currently a licensee of the CoreMedia IOP interoperability server – the industry’s leading test server. The partnership will further strengthen the interoperability between both companies’ products – CoreMedia DRM and Discretix Multi-Scheme DRM Client.

The Discretix Multi-Scheme DRM Client offers unparalleled flexibility in meeting the evolving needs of mobile operators and handset manufacturers. Reinforced by an underlying hardware-based security sub-system, such as Discretix CryptoCellâ„¢, the Client features an outstanding level of security and high performance.

With its comprehensive content technology CoreMedia establishes an interoperable "end-to-end trust model" for convergent content distribution on mobile phones, PDAs and PCs. CoreMedia offers its comprehensive technology according to open standards and bridging OMA DRM with Windows Media DRM. In addition CoreMedia incorporates CMLA specifications in its OMA DRM 2.0 technology.
