Bytemobile Wins CTIA WIRELESS 2007 E-Tech Award for Unison Web Fidelity Service

Bytemobile, Inc. announced that its Unison™ Web Fidelity Service was selected as the second-place winner of the CTIA Emerging Technologies (E-Tech) Award for the Network Infrastructure—Wide Area Network category at CTIA WIRELESS 2007. Winners were announced today in an awards ceremony during the show at the Orange County Convention Center.

Launched on February 6, 2007, Bytemobile’s Unison Web Fidelity Service is the first carrier-grade, commercial infrastructure solution for open Internet access on any mobile device. It enables network operators to provide desktop-quality web browsing on mass-market wireless handsets. The Unison Web Fidelity Service is integrated with other Internet protocol (IP) services—including optimization, content filtering and WAP 2 gateway—on Bytemobile’s Unison multi-service platform for the deployment and delivery of mobile data and multimedia applications.

“The industry recognition conferred by the CTIA E-Tech Award reinforces the enthusiastic response of carriers to the Unison Web Fidelity Service,” said Adrian Hall, vice president of Marketing and Business Development at Bytemobile. “This product and others to follow will build on Bytemobile’s global optimization footprint, extending our value proposition from the core of the network to the mobile consumer experience. People on the go with affordable mobile phones will have ready, convenient access to a full range of websites—news, banking, travel, auctions, blogs, email, photos, social networking, and eCommerce, to name a few examples.”

The CTIA E-Tech Awards program is designed to give industry recognition and exposure to the best wireless products and services in the areas of Consumer, Enterprise and Network Technology. More than 225 applications were submitted and reviewed by a panel of recognized members of the media, industry analysts and technology experts. Products in four categories—hardware, consumer applications, enterprise solutions, and network infrastructure—were judged on innovation, functionality, vision, technological importance, and implementation.

“The E-Tech Awards program continues to grow and showcase innovative products that extend wireless offerings to consumers and enterprises,” said Robert Mesirow, vice president and show director for CTIA WIRELESS. “On behalf of CTIA, we congratulate Bytemobile on the award and look forward to its continued innovation in the field of wide area network infrastructure.”
