WiderThan Partners With Helio On Helio Music And AnswerRings Services

Rogers' Wireless Customers Can Discover, Download, and Enjoy Music Anytime, Anywhere

WiderThan, a subsidiary of RealNetworks, Inc. (Nasdaq: RNWK), announced that it has partnered with Helio on the launch of their Helio Music (MOD) and AnswerRings (RBT) services.

Utilizing WiderThan's full-function Music-on-Demand (MOD) platform, Helio Music lets members download full music tracks over-the-air directly to their device. This Spring, Helio plans to debut a PC version of Helio Music utilizing the WiderThan platform for dual delivery of full tracks to a member's PC and device.

WiderThan's complete, end-to-end ringback tone (RBT) platform was utilized for Helio's AnswerRings service, allowing Helio members to personalize the audio heard when people call with music from a variety of genres, personal messages, comedy, and other types of audio content.

"We are pleased to provide Helio with new service offerings to entertain their subscribers and to generate additional revenue," said Vern Poyner, CEO, WiderThan Americas. "As the mobile entertainment industry continues to grow, WiderThan remains committed to providing innovative services to mobile network operators worldwide."

With the addition of Helio as a customer, WiderThan now provides ringback tone (RBT) services to 15 mobile service providers worldwide for a combined subscriber base of more than 195 million. Both Helio Music and the AnswerRings service leverage WiderThan's Multi-Service Platform (WMSP) to manage both service and content delivery.
