Vodafone will be giving a debut demonstration of its new "Vodafone IP-Phone Professional" service and a glimpse into the future at CeBIT 2007. This innovative service combines VoIP and mobile phone functions and is specifically designed for users with small and medium-sized enterprises. Vodafone customers who subscribe to the service for VoIP get the added convenience of mobile phone functions such as video telephony or text messaging on the PC. All persons making calls to the PC or mobile phone dial up your familiar Vodafone mobile number. Vodafone IP-Phone Professional's convergence means a wider range of communication options and greater convenience for professional users.
The new Vodafone IP-Phone service unites the advantages of classic mobile telephony and PC. IP-Phone is the first innovative software to provide users with both mobile phone functions and the advantages of a PC client and VoIP. For Vodafone's business customers, this means free VoIP calls to other Vodafone users around the world and a big boost to personal communication convenience. For example, conventional mobile phone services such as text messaging or video telephony - also to mobile phones - can be conveniently used on the PC. The "Vodafone IP-Phone Professional" ID is always the Vodafone mobile phone number. The dual ringing function ensures that users never miss a call. Incoming calls to the regular mobile phone number ring on both the mobile phone and the PC. The customer then decides where to pick it up. Text messages are sent concurrently to the phone and PC, and you can reply to them directly from the PC. Other advantages are that there is only one mailbox for PC and phone where all missed calls are redirected, and all paid-for services are simply billed on the monthly mobile phone bill.
In addition to these new functions, the service includes classic PC client functions such as VoIP and chatting for fast project communication and presence indication.
