Vodafone is a already a provider of mobile telephony, high-speed surfing, navigation, photography and TV services. Now it has introduced the VPA Compact GPS and BlackBerry 8000, two genuinely innovative and compact all-round handhelds with integrated GPS receivers. They revolutionise simple navigation in unfamiliar cities.

The new VPA compact GPS is already equipped for extra-fast data transmissions at speeds of up to 3.6 Mbit/s in Vodafone's 3G broadband network. It integrates the very latest technology and is extremely easy to use, so it's the perfect product for business professionals in practically any situation. Even high volumes of data are easy to send through the fast 3G network with the new VPA, and it's also ready for high-speed 3G broadband, which delivers data transmission rates of up to 3.6 Mbit/s. The 3G broadband function is due to be made available in the second quarter of 2007 in the form of a software update.

Thanks to an integrated GPS receiver, the VPA is also a full-value mobile navigation device. It doesn't need any additional hardware such as an external GPS receiver.

The same applies to the new BlackBerry 8800. It is a very elegant and slim smartphone that is designed as a genuine all-in-one device. All frequently used functions are directly available. The new BlackBerry 8800 is a GSM quadband smartphone. Data is transmitted via a GPRS connection.

The BlackBerry 8800 has a brilliant 320 x 240 pixel large colour display. It incorporates an illuminated, full QWERTY keyboard for convenient text entry in mobile e-mail communications and other applications. Audio and video files can be played back with the integrated multimedia player.

Both devices are equipped for the "Vodafone Navigator" solution. The Vodafone Navigator is an 'offboard' navigation system. The route is computed on a central system that sends the data via the mobile network to the mobile phone. traffic obstructions such as, traffic jams or blocked roads can be taken into account when the route is planned.
