Bitstream Shows Off Mobile Browsing, Messaging, and Embedded Font Technology at CeBIT 2007

Bitstream Inc. announced that it is showcasing the latest in mobile browsing, messaging and embedded font technology solutions at CeBIT 2007 in Hannover Germany.

Products highlighted during CeBIT include the ThunderHawk™ browser for mobile handsets, myMMS™, a creative mobile messaging application, and Bitstream core mobile technologies for rendering worldwide text in handsets, embedded devices, and mobile applications. These solutions provide leading mobile operators, device manufacturers, embedded system and application developers the tools to meet the challenging and changing needs of their markets including:

ThunderHawk

Built with Bitstream core mobile technology, ThunderHawk is the first browser to provide a consistent, full HTML browsing experience between mobile and desktop environments. ThunderHawk is the only browser that satisfies the key requirements for a positive user experience: the ability to find and read information quickly.

ThunderHawk fits columns of text to the width of the mobile phone for fast, fluid reading without repurposing, reformatting or removing Website content. A unique “Zoom In/Zoom Out” split screen magnifier enables users to quickly find information and navigate Websites with ease.

For mobile operators, the client/server version of ThunderHawk offers powerful, user-friendly benefits in a small (under 100KB) package. This removes complexity from the handset, providing support for a vast range of mass-market and higher-end phones. Device manufacturers have the option to pre-install the new client-only version of ThunderHawk before shipping the handset because there is no server or configuration requirement.

Recent ThunderHawk product enhancements on display at CeBIT include even faster Website request times, improved cursor speed, and easier navigation between pop up windows and vertical and horizontal browsing views.

The company is also pleased to announce that Vodafone D2 GmbH , in cooperation with Bitstream, will be demonstrating the ThunderHawk mobile browser at the Vodafone pavilion G04, located in the open-air zone to the south of CeBIT's Hall 25 . Bitstream (Hall 25, Stand A01) is also featuring new developments in its mobile technology solutions, including:

myMMS

Making its debut at the 3GSM World Congress in February, myMMS is a new mobile messaging application that allows anyone to easily create and send personal mobile messages using almost any handset. myMMS lets users unleash their creativity by composing messages using edgy fonts and personal photos and images to set just the right mood for all their mobile communication.

See a demonstration of myMMS and learn how it can help your organization achieve additional revenue opportunities.

Core Mobile Technologies

At CeBIT, Bitstream is also showing Font Fusion and Bitstream Panorama, the company's core font rendering and line layout technologies for both the mobile and embedded systems markets. These solutions allow developers to build applications that display clear, crisp, readable text on any device used anywhere in the world.

Font Fusion produces the best possible text output with lightening fast performance on any device at any resolution. Bitstream Panorama provides a sophisticated line layout solution for complex scripting languages within the small footprint required for mobility – enabling mobile providers to expand their reach to the worldwide marketplace with one solution.
“Bitstream solutions focus on the user experience and offer forward-thinking mobile operators, device manufacturers, embedded system and application developers new and more effective ways of doing business,” said Anna Chagnon, President and CEO of Bitstream Inc. “Whether they want to communicate in a new language, generate new lines of revenue, or unleash the power of their customer's creativity, Bitstream has the technology to help create the ultimate mobile experience.”
